Notes:  Click to enlarge Harry Lorne McNaught was born 20 Oct 1889 in West Monkton, Grey Twp., Huron, Ontario.  His parents were Henry Alexander McNaught and Rebecca Dunn Detwiller.  He grew up on the family farm known as Deerbank.  He had an older sister Alberta (Bert), born in 1882, older brothers Russell, born in 1884, and David Vernon born in 1885, and a sister Minnie Ethel born in 1888, all recorded in the 1891 Canada census records.  His brother James Ferguson was born later in 1891, followed by sisters Ida Beth in 1896, and Sarah Mildred in 1899.  The 1901 Canada census shows the entire family together.  Sarah died later in 1901, just short of her second birthday.

In 1910, Harry was living with the O. Nelson Rushworth family in Jamestown, Chautauqua, New York.  Isabella Detwiller Rushworth was his aunt.  Harry was a drafsman in a metal furniture factory.  The census reports that Harry entered the United States in 1908.  He evidently returned to Canada, as he re-entered the United States at Buffalo, New York, on 8 Jan 1915 to visit his "Uncle James".

On 1 May 1916, Harry entered the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force, to fight with Great Britain against Germany.  At the time, he was living in Simpson, Saskatchewan, and listed his mother in Monkton, Ontario as his next-of-kin.  His occupation was given as carpenter.

In the 1921 Canada census, Harry was living in Ethlewyn, Battle River, Alberta.  He was a farmer farming on Sec. 2, Twp. 53, Range 5, Meridan 4.  He owned his land, with a wooden house with four rooms  His brother James and his family, were farming on Sec 12 in Twp. 53.

Harry married Marion Logan Ferguson on 1 Mar 1922 in Saskatchewan.  Three children were the result of the marriage.  According to the Canada Voters Lists, the family was living in the City of Stratford, Perth, Ontario, in 1940.  Harry was a bank messenger.  Living with the family was Marion's mother, Isabella Ferguson, a widow.  By 1945, Harry's occupation was given as "Secretary", and later "Secretary-Treasurer".  The company he worked for is unknown.  By 1962, Harry had retired.

Harry died 11 February, probably in Stratford.  He was buried in the Avondale Cemetery in Stratford on 19 Feb 1969.
