Notes:  John Thomas Heslop was born 1 Sep 1885 in Ovingham, Northumberland, England.  His parents were John Heslop and Frances (Fannie) Barron.  He was chistened on 11 Nov 1885.  In 1891 he was living with his parents and sisters in Ovingham, Northumberland, England.  Also in the family was John Baron, a shepard, the father of Frances.  The spelling of Baron may be Barron.  In 1901 the family was living in Newcastle upon Tyne in Northumberland.

John immigrated to Canada in 1908.  Departing from Liverpool, he arrived in the Port of New York on 30 Mar 1908, aboard the Mauretania, bound for Toronto.  On 4 Jan 1913, he married Ada Luella Gould in Colborne, Northumberland, Ontario.  Nothing more is known about this marriage.

John married Ida Beth McNaught on 1 May 1928, in Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario.  Beth was a vocal teacher and John was a clergyman in the United Church of Canada  Shortly after their marriage, John and Beth sailed to England on the Montnairn, arriving in Southampton on 12 Jul 1928.  They returned to Quebec on the same ship on 29 Aug 1928.  They traveled to England again in 1930, arriving back in Quebec on 16 Aug 1930 aboard the Empress of Scotland.

Beth and John are listed in the Canada Voters Lists as living in various locations, including Port Dover, Brant, and Halton.  The couple never had children.  John died sometime between 1968 and 1972.  His death date and place are unknown.
