Notes: Robert Hamilton Harvey was born 18 Jul 1913 in Portage la Prairie, Manitoba. His parents were David Harvey and Ann Jane Detwiller. He had an older brother, David William born in 1912. His father was a farmer. In the 1916 Manitoba census, the family was living in Portage la Prairie. The household included his maternal grandmother Elizabeth Detwiller, and his aunt Elizabeth Detwiller Wilson.

Robert's family moved to British Columbia. In the 1921 Canada census, they were living on Amelia Street in the Village of Sidney on the North Saanich Peninsula. Robert was 7 years, and his father was still a farmer.

Robert was a salesman, and his last residence was 630 Madore Avenue, Coquitlan, British Columbia. Robert died 26 Aug 1980 in St. Mary's Hospital, New Westminster, British Columbia.
