In the 1915 North Dakota census, the family was living on their farm in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, about 6 miles north of Cooperstown. His father Robert was a grain farmer, and also raised stock. In the 1920 U.S. census, the family was complete, with his brother Lawrence Everett, born in 1917. In the 1930 U.S. census, Howard, 21, and Earl, 29, were doing farm labor. Also still at home were Wallace, 19, Kenneth, 17, and Lawrence, 12. Their two sisters had since married.

Wallace married Dorothy (Dora) Nelson on 14 Oct 1935 in Carrington, Foster, North Dakota. In the 1940 U.S. census, Wallace and Dora were living on their farm in Tyrol Twp., Griggs, North Dakota. They had two sons, Irving Leroy, born in 1936, and Harlan Duane. Wallace was a farmer operator. They had one more child, Roberta Doreen.

Wallace died 17 Oct 1992, in Mayville, Traill, North Dakota. He is buried in the Cooperstown Cemetery, Cooperstown, Griggs, North Dakota.
