In the 1935 Perth Amboy, New Jersey, City Directory, the family was living at 429 Lawton Place, Perth Amboy. Her father was listed as a clerk, she was a librarian, and her brother Fred was a clerk.

Lillian married Hildour Nelson, date unknown. In the 1940 USA census, Lillian and Hildour were living at 455 Lawrie Street, Perth Amboy. Hildour was working at an electrical plant, and Lillian was a public librarian. The census indicates that they were at the same address in 1935. Also living with them was her father-in-law Remus Nelson, a painter, her mother Margaret, and sisters Cecilia and Ruth. Lillian had had two years of college education.

Nothing more is known about the marriage. In 1987, Lillian was living at 2 Juniper Street, Metuchen, New Jersey, using her maiden name Neilson. Lillian died 26 Nov 1999, her last residence being Metuchen. Her burial site is unknown.
