Notes:  Samuel Davis married Mary Detwiller about April 1869, probably in Ontario, Canada.  The exact place and date are unknown.  The couple never had children but were family to many nieces and nephews.  Immediately after their marriage they moved to Illinois.  They moved to Kansas for two years, returning to Illinois.

Samuel Davis, Mary Detwiller In the 1880 U.S. census, Samuel and Mary were found back in Kansas, farming in Concord Twp.. Ottawa County.  Samuel's nephew Lewis Davis, age 9, was living with them.  About 1895, they moved to North Dakota, farming in Tyrol Twp., Griggs County.  Henry Detwiller, Mary's brother, was farming nearby.  About 1906, Samuel and Mary returned to Kansas.  In the 1910 U.S. census, they were living on Sheridan Street in Minneapolis, Ottawa County.

Samuel died 2 May 1914.  Mary died 8 Feb 1931.  Both are buried in the Highland Cemetery, Minneapolis, Ottawa.
