          "Richfield, Jan 10. - Heber Magleby, who is with the Provo B.Y.A. exploring party in South America, writes home to his parents in Monroe that the party was on Nov. 11, at Honda Tolima, Columbia, a town on the headwaters of the Magdalena river.  The party was stopping there temporarily, fearing to advance because of the rainy weather and so many soldiers occupying the path they intended to take to go into Ecuador."

          "Heber L. Magleby has returned to Utah after three and a half years on the rubber plantation of the Utah Mexican company in tropical Mexico.  Mr. Magleby's contract with the company expired the first of the year, but he waited for a change of season before removing his wife and children from the torrid zone to the frigidity of a northern winter."

  • "OWEN WALKER MEETS WITH PECULIAR ACCIDENT"
          "Owen Walker met with an accident this week which cost him the tip of one of his fingers.  He is one of the engineers at the Yuba mine works and was engaged in hewing some blocks upon which he purposed to place a distilate tank.  While doing so, the ax which he was using came off its handle, dropped onto his finger and having a keen edge, cut it off at the first joint as smoothly as if done by a surgeon's knife.
          He expects to return to work in a few days."

  •       "Owen Walker and wife returned to Pioche last week after an absence of nearly two years.  Mrs. Walker, who was Miss Adeline Craw before her marriage three years ago, is renewing acquaintances and visiting her many friends.  Owen Walker during the last year was the master mechanic at the Standard Minerals, a mine nineteen miles southeast of Kingman, Ariz.  Previous to that time he was with the Western Machinery Company at Los Angeles.  Rumell Walker, much better known as "Plute" Walker, has been running a hoist in Arizona for the last four months and has returned to Pioche with his brother."

    Owen Walker, assistant superintendent of the Combined Metals Mines, was taken to Ely early on Thursday morning to undergo a major operation at the Steptoe hospital.  His condition was reported as being as good as could be expected."
          Audrey Walker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Owen Walker, fell on the front steps of her home Monday as she was leaving for school and fractured her right arm."
