Notes:  Laura Margaret Clayton, known as Lorna, was born 14 Dec 1910 in Thunder Bay District, Ontario, Canada.  Her parents were Richard Clayton, and Ethel Mary Stephenson.  In the 1911 CAN census, Lorna Clayton, 5 months, was living with her parents, Richard Clayton, 36, and Ethel, 30, at 516 Laird St, Fort William, Thunder Bay Dist., Ontario.  Her father was a federal office clerk, earning $720., and the family was listed as Methodist.  Her older brother was Eric, 6.

In the 1921 CAN census, Lorna Margaret, 10, was living with her parents, Richard Clayton, 46, and Ethel Mary, 40, at 516 N. Budie, Fort William City, Ontario.  Her father was a clerk, earning $1812.  They owned their home, which was wooden with 6 rooms.  Her older brother Eric was 16.

The Clayton family is not found in the 1931 Can Census.

Lorna Margaret Clayton married Chester LeRoy Hancock on 21 Nov 1942 in the Wesley United Church, Ottawa, Carleton, Ontario.  They had met while both were serving in the war department.  They went to Montreal on their honeymoon, then made their home in Ottawa.

While living in Ottawa, Lorna and Chester had two boys, Richard and Thomas.  After the war they moved to Thunder Bay, Ontario, where Lorna had grown up.  Here they added two girls to the family, Margaret and Karen.  In the 1945 Voter lists, they are listed as living at 516 Brodie Streeet, City of Fort William, Ontario.  Chester L. Hancock is listed as a soldier, and Mrs. Chester Hancock as a housewife.  Living with them was her father, Richard Clayton, retired.

Her husband Chester died 31 Oct 1989, and Lorna died 6 Mar 2012, in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
