Notes: Thomas was born in 1808 or earlier. His birthdate and birth place given above were assumed based upon his "Exa" baptism date and place. He was a nephew of his uncle of the same name, Thomas Hancock.

In about 1823 Thomas most probably married Elizabeth, probably at Ashreigney Parish or nearby — based upon their youngest daughter's Baptism record. However, evidence of an actual marriage ceremony or Elizabeth's maiden name could not be found.
