|Notes: Rouen James Westcott was born 9 May 1917 to Rolo and Avis Pearl Hunt. He had
an older brother, Marshall. According to family reports, he was born in
Windsor, Ontario, Canada. On 4 Aug 1926, at the age of 9 years, 2 months,
he immigrated to the United States through Detroit with his family. Their
destination was San Gabriel, California. In the 1930 U.S. census, the family was living
in the City of San Gabriel at 419 Alhambra Road.|
Rouen eloped with and married Margery Noble on September 30, 1939 in Ventura County. He graduated in 1940 from Occidental College in Eagle Rock, California. He and Margery had a second wedding, probably a church wedding, on 20 Jun 1940.
Rouen enlisted as a private in the USA Army on 2 Jun 1942 in Los Angeles. His family recalls that he was a navigator. As a civil occupation, his enlistment record states: "Coppersmith or Photoradio Operator or Airport Control Operator or Radio Dispatcher, Police." He was 6 feet tall and weighed 155 pounds.
Rouen and Margery had four children, the first born in 1943. Rouen went on to work as an account executive who sold time for TV and radio commercials for various companies. Rouen died on 8 Sep 1990 from lung cancer. His last residence was in Huntington Beach, Orange, California. His ashes were scattered at sea outside of Newport Harbor, Orange County, California.
According to Huntington Beach telephone directories, Margery continued to live in Huntington Beach from 1995 through 2002. She moved to an Irvine in 2005, and and passed away 16 Apr 2008 due to Alzheimer's.
