Notes: William George Detwiller and Jean Adelle Woodley were married 8 Jul 1941, on her
birthday. According to his biography in
The Imperial review [p. 174], they lived in
Innis Detwiller's first house, across the tracks from
his parents. In 1946, they moved to her parents house, when the Woodley's
retired to Imperial. They had three children.
In 1945, George and Jean are listed in the Canada Voter Lists,
living in the Lake Centre electoral district, specifically Imperial.
He was a farmer. In 1958, 1962, 1963 and 1965, the electoral district
is named Moose-Jaw-Lake Centre.
William battled asthma most of his life, and died 16 Mar 1968. He is buried in
the Imperial Cemetery, Imperial, Saskatchewan. Joan went on the marry Harold
Vance in 1969. She died 4 Jun 2005, and is buried with William in the Imperial
Cemetery. |
