Thomas Eagar, Vera Hinton Eagar Notes:  Thomas Eagar, 20, and Vera Hinton, 19, were married on 25 Sep 1918 in the St. George LDS Temple, St. George, Washington, Utah.  Vera's uncle, John Maurice Hinton, had been the first husband of Thomas' mother Nancy.  During the first thirty-two years of their marriage they lived in several different places in and around Hurricane, Washington, Utah.  Immediately after their marriage they moved to Mountain Dell, 5 miles north east of Hurricane, where Thomas had a job making molasses.
In the 1920 U.S. census, Thomas, 21, and Vera, 19, were living on 3rd West Street, Hurricane, Washington, Utah.  Thomas was now a sheepherder, and they were renting a room from her parents, Thomas and Wilhelmina Hinton.

Thomas and Vera had seven children, all born in Hurricane.  Dilworth Hinton Eagar was born 20 Aug 1920, followed by Alden Eagar on 16 Jul 1923, and Barbara Eagar in 1926.  Sadly, Alden died 15 Nov 1926, age three, of croup and pneumonia, following a fall into an irrigation ditch.  Their daughter Melba Eagar was born 19 Feb 1928.  But again tragedy, as their son Dilworth died 19 Dec 1929, age nine, of mumps and pneumonia.

In the 1930 U.S. census, Vera, 30, and Thomas, 31, were living at 146 Grave Yard Lane, Hurricane.  They owned the home, valued at $950.  Thomas was still a sheepherder.  They had their two daughters, Barbara, 3, and Melba, 2.  Their third daughter Vera Lenna Eagar was born 22 Sep 1930, and a fourth daughter Nedra Eagar in 1933.  Their last child was a son, Delwin Thomas Eagar, born in 1939.

In the 1940 U.S. census, Vera, 40, and Thomas, 41, were living in the same home in Hurricane as in 1935.  Thomas was a janitor for the local church.  Their children were Barbara, 13, Melba, 12, Lenna, 9, Nedra, 7, and Delwin, 1.

Thomas Eagar, Vera Hinton Eagar Thomas and Vera, along with Delwin, moved to Las Vegas, Clark, Nevada in 1955.  In the Las Vegas, Nevada, City Directory, 1957, they are listed as living at 410 S. 14th, Las Vegas.  Thomas was a gardener at the Desert Inn Hotel.  In Sep 1958, they returned to Utah, settling in St. George.

Thomas suffered a heart attack and died ten days later on 19 Feb 1972, in St. George, Washington, Utah.  Vera died 8 Jan 1977, and is buried with her husband in the Hurricane City Cemetery, Hurricane, Washington, Utah.
