Notes:James Lang Bunker and Catherine Wilhelmina Nordfors met while living in Annabella, Sevier, Utah.  They obtained a marriage license in Sevier County on 11 Apr 1889, and were married 13 Apr 1889 in the Manti Temple, Manti, Sanpete, Utah.  They had two children:  Sarah Catherine, born and died in 1890, and James Leo, born 1891 and died in 1894.

James and Catherine lived in Annabella for several years then moved to the Bigelow Ranch near Gunlock, Utah.  In the 1900 U.S. census, James L. Bunker, 38, and Katherine W., 33, were living in Gunlock, Washington, Utah.  James was a farmer and they owned their farm free of mortgage.
In the 1910 U.S. census, James L. Bunker, 48, and Catherine, 38, were still living on their farm in Gunlock, Washington, Utah.  They now had an adopted son, James R. Bunker, 8.  In 1912 and James laid out and established the village of Veyo, Washington County.  He built a substantial home, and in 1914 began the work of digging the Veyo Ditch for irrigation.  He raised a Jersey Dairy herd.

In the 1920 U.S. census, James L. Bunker, 58, and his wife, Catherine, 52, were living in Veyo.  James was still farming, and their home was free of mortgage.  Their son, James R., was 14 and attending school.  In October 1925, their son developed appendicitis while on a mission in the Southern States, and James and Catherine traveled to Salt Lake City to be with him for several weeks.  The couple also spent time in St. George, working in the Temple.

In the 1930 U.S. census, James L. Bunker, 68, and Catherine, 64, were still farming on their farm in Veyo.  They were alone now, as their son had married in Feb 1928.  They did not have a radio set.  In 1932, They moved to St. George.
