(Napa, California) Tue. 3 Apr 1979, p. 10, col. 3. Nora Agnes Hancock Nora Agnes Hancock, a lifelong resident of Napa, died Sunday at a local convalescent hospital following a lengthy illness. She was 86. She was born to George W. and Lucy Samuels on Jan 1, 1893. She grew up here, attended local schools and graduated from Napa High School in 1911. She married Wilfred "Bill" Hancock in August, 1911, and the couple made their home in Napa. Mrs. Hancock was a member of the Ivy Rebekah Lodge, the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of many church groups. She is survived by one son, Warren S. of Napa, and three daughters, Leola A. Martin of Vallejo, Bee E. Lacaze of Napa and Ruth Gattavara of Suisun City, a sister, Alma Buck of Napa, 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Her husband died in 1974. Friends are invited to attend the funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday at Treadway & Wigger Funeral Chapel with Charles F. Knipe officiating. Entombment at Tulocay Cemetery will follow. | ||||
