Harry Detwiller Obituary
| Harry Detwiller died Jul 13, 1967 at 75 on a Thurs. The funeral will be in St. George's Catholic Ch at 10:00 Sat. Jul 15. He was the last surviving member of the Henry Detwiller family, pioneer settlers of Griggs Co. Mr. Detwiller was born here Dec 6, 1891 and married Lillian Williams at New Richmond, Wis. June 23, 1920. The couple farmed in this area until 1941 when they went to Wis. and he worked in a defense plant. In 1943 they retired here on the farm. In 1945 they moved into Cooperstown and in 1946 he began working for the state highway dept., retiring about six years ago. He leaves his wife, two sons, William, Cooperstown, Patrick, Moorhead, Minn., two daughters, Mrs. Herman (Mary Evelyn) Palzkill, Mineral Point, Wis. and Mrs. Joe (Catherine) Zimprich, Aneta, N.D. and thirty grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister Mrs. Robert (Mary) Pratt and five brothers, John, Andrew, Fred, Alex and William. |
