Notes:  Alberta (Bert) McNaught was born 23 Oct 1882 in Grey Twp., Huron, Ontario,  Her parents were Henry Alexander McNaught and Rebecca Dunn Detwiller.  She was the first of eight children, and grew up on the family farm known as Deerbank.
Russell was born in 1884, David Vernon, 1885, Minnie Ethel, 1888, Harry Lorne, 1889, all recorded in the 1891 Canada census records.  James Fergus was born later in 1891, followed by Ida Beth, 1896, and Sarah Mildred, 1899.  The 1901 Canada census shows the entire family together.  Sarah died later in 1901, just short of her second birthday.

Mary Agnes Noble, Minnie Ethel McNaught, Ida Beth McNaught, Harry Lorne McNaught In the 1911 Canada census, only Alberta, Minnie, James and Ida were living at home.  Alberta was a school teacher, and Minnie and James were listed as students.  A farm hand lived with the family.  In 1912, Mary and Mern Noble, along with their mother Agnes, visited the McNaught family at Deerbank.  At right is a group photograph taken by Mern.

In October 1917, Alberta crossed the border at Buffalo, New York, to visit Isabella Rushworth, her aunt, in Jamestown, New York.  The border crossing documents described Alberta as a single female, 35 years, 7 months old, a school teacher, 5 feet tall, of fair complexion, with light brown hair and blue eyes.

Finally, at the age of 36 years, Alberta married Edgar Sim Wilson on 26 Dec 1918, in Monkton, Grey Twp., Huron.  They are not found in the 1921 Canada census.  They had two daughters.  Edgar was a general merchant in Monkton for over 50 years.  Edgar died 16 Mar 1956.  Alberta died in 1968.  Both are buried in the Knox Presbyterian Cemetery, Mitchell, Perth, Ontario.
