Click to enlarge Ida had an older sister Alberta (Bert), born in 1882, older brothers Russell, born in 1884, and David Vernon born in 1885, a sister Minnie Ethel born in 1888, and brothers Harry Lorne born in 1889, and James Fergus born in 1891.  Her younger sister Sarah Mildred was born in 1899.  The 1901 census shows the entire family together.  Sarah died later in 1901, just short of her second birthday.

Click to enlarge In 1911, only Alberta, Minnie, James and Beth were living at home.  Alberta was a school teacher, and Minnie and James were listed as students.  Minnie later became a school teacher, and she went by her middle name Ethel.  In 1912, Mary and Mern Noble, along with their mother Agnes, visited the McNaught family at Deerbank.  At right is a group photograph taken by Mern.

In the 1921 Canada census, only Minnie and Beth were still living with their parents.  At the age of 31 years, Beth married John Thomas Heslop on 1 May 1928 in the City of Hamilton, Wentworth, Ontario.  She was a vocal teacher and John was a clergyman in the United Church of Canada.  Shortly after their marriage, they sailed to England on the Montnairn, arriving in Southampton on 12 Jul 1928.  They returned to Quebec on the same ship on 29 Aug 1928.  They traveled to England again in 1930, arriving back in Quebec on 16 Aug 1930 aboard the Empress of Scotland.

Ida Beth McNaught Beth and John are listed in the Canada Voters Lists as living in various locations, including Port Dover, Brant, and Halton.  The couple never had children.  Beth is shown at left with her sister Ethel and niece Ariel.  Beth's husband John died sometime between 1968 and 1972.  In the 1972 Canada Voters Lists, Beth is listed as living at 59 West St. N., Apt 7, in Simcoe.  Her death date and place are unknown.
