Crash Kills Provo Woman, 90
      OREM - A 90-year-old Provo woman, Mrs. Annie Peterson, 990 N. 100 W., died Thursday night at the Utah Valley Hospital two hours after she was thrown from a car in a two-vehicle accident in Orem.
      The elderly woman was a passenger in a car driven by her daughter, Mrs. Zella Sweet, 53, of the same address.  Mrs. Sweet is hospitalized with a broken pelvis and other injuries.  She was also thrown from the car.
      Orem police said the two women were riding in a small foreign car west on 800 North in Orem.  Their vehicle was involved in a collision with a car driven by John Smith Stringham, 31, 473 E.2950 N., Provo. Mr. Stringham suffered minor injuries not requiring hospital care.
            DIES LATER
      The accident occurred at 6:48 p.m. and Mrs. Peterson died after 9 p.m.

      Annie Walker Peterson, 90, 990 N. 1st W., Provo, was born Feb. 7, 1878, in Spring Valley, Nev., a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth Staheli Walker.
      She married Niels Alma Peterson on Oct. 9, 1900, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  He died April 16, 1964.  They celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary before his death.
      Mrs. Peterson moved to Provo from Eureka in 1918.  Her husband was employed with the railroad.
            TAUGHT SCHOOL
      She graduated from Brigham Young Academy in 1895 and taught school after her graduation.  She was active in the LDS Church all her life.  She received the Golden Gleaner honorary award and 25-year Primary pin.  When she celebrated her 90th birthday in February of this year, she was still active as a Relief Society teacher.
      Mrs. Peterson had also worked seven years as a probation officer for the Fifth District Juvenile Court.
            SURVIVORS LISTED
      Surviving are nine children:  Karl A. Peterson of Price; Mrs. George (Verda) Bollschweiller of Salt Lake City; Lawrence Peterson of LaCanada, Calif.; Leon Peterson, Mrs. Vern (Clara) Bullock, Owen Peterson and Mrs. Zella Street, all of Provo; Vernon Peterson of Ohio, and Mrs. Kendall (Elaine) Rasmusson of Idaho Falls; 30 grandchildren and 51 great-grandchildren; and four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Mina Hinton, St. George; Mrs. Lamira Bishop, Delta; Mrs. Clara Stewart, Hinckley, and Jacob Felix, Springville.
      Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11 a.m. in the Park-University LDS Ward Chapel, 8th N. 1st W., Provo.
      Friends may call Sunday at the Olpin Family Mortuary in Provo, 85 E. 3rd S., Provo, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday at the ward chapel prior to the services.
      Burial will be in the Provo City Cemetery.
